Port Overview

The port in Dili is currently the main and only international port of entry to Timor-Leste. The harbor is surrounded by a natural reef with only one clearly marked access route. The reef provides a natural protection against severe weather which can occur in the rainy season (typically November – February).

Berthing Specifications

Dili port has no facilities to handle bulk cargoes. Currently the port is only able to handle shipments restricted to containerized and conventional cargoes.

Currently there are a few carriers with service to Dili. Due to the berth congestion issue, sailings are quite irregular.

Latest Development News

Berth congestion has been an issue for any loading at Dili for a long time. AD&K Logistics has been assisting our customers to send their shipments to Dili since 2014. The average delay for any proposed scheduled sailing is about 7-12 days at the moment.

Berth Congestion

Mid last year, the State of Timor Leste had signed a contract with Bolloré Transport & Logistics to start the implementation of a new port of Dili located in Tibar Bay, 12 km from Dili. Ground breaking ceremony for the contract was done on 14 June this year.
